Noteworthy...

Last year, during fashion week in Milan, my mom, cousin and I happened to go see an exhibition (if you can call it that way) in beautiful Palazzo Morando where young fashion designers got to showcase their work. It was free and it was very interesting. This year I read in the January issue of Vogue about this contest and noticed that the 2011 finalists exposed their work in the same building and same period, which made me wonder if the young talents we got to see last year (or rather, two years ago...it was September of 2010) were the 2010 finalists or if the exhibition we saw was something different. Anyways, while going through the article (it was actually more pictures than words), the designer that caught my attention most was Alessio Spinelli, a shoe designer, so I looked him up on the internet and discovered that he eventually won the 2011 contest. Also I read that the 2012 Who is on Next? contest is taking place right now and that it is the eighth edition...if the finalists will expose their work next September I might try to go...
Anywho...here are a few of Spinelli's shoes...beautiful, are they not?

L'anno scorso, durante la settimana della moda a Milano, mia mamma, mia cugina ed io siam andate a vedere una mostra a Palazzo Morando dove una serie di giovani designer esponevano il loro lavoro. L'ingresso era libero e la mostra molto interessante. Quest'anno, sfogliando Vogue di gennaio ho letto un articolo che parlava di questo concorso e ho notato che diceva che i finalisti del 2011 hanno esposto il loro lavoro nello stesso palazzo e nello stesso periodo della mostra dell'anno scorso (o meglio di due anni fa, era il settembre del 2010), il che mi ha fatto venire il dubbio che forse i ragazzi che abbiamo visto fossero proprio i finalisti del 2010. Comunque, leggendo l'articolo, il designer che ha più attirato la mia attenzione era Alessio Spinelli, un designer di scarpe, così son andata a cercare il suo sito e ho scoperto che è stato poi lui a vincere l'edizione del 2011. Inoltre ho letto che il bando del concorso del 2012 è ora aperto e che si tratta dell'ottava edizione...se i finalisti esporranno di nuovo a Palazzo Morando questo settembre magari cerco di farci un salto...
Coooomunque, ecco alcune delle scarpe di Spinelli...belle, nevvero?
