New yarn!

My parents were away this weekend and it has become a tradition that whenever they go somewhere they come back with a little yarny surprise for me, which is obviously always very appreciated! This time it's two different cotton yarns. The pink one is from Alma filati, a brand I've used a lot before that has incredible quality yarns, it's 100% egyptian cotton and very shiny, I was thinking of making an open cardigan using a type of construction I've been wanting to try for a while. The blue one, by Ornaghi filati, is still 100% cotton but very different, not shiny, very soft and it feels a little more raw if that makes sense, I was thinking of making a tank top out of this one, but I have to brainstorm a little...

I miei erano via questo weekend ed è diventata ormai una tradizione che quando vanno da qualche parte tornano sempre con qualche sorpresina per me dal meraviglioso mondo dei filati, ovviamente sempre ben accetta! Questa volta mi hanno portato due filati di cotone. Uno è di Alma filati, una marca che ho usato moltissime volte e con la quale mi trovo benissimo, fanno filati di ottima qualità. Si tratta di 100% cotone egiziano, molto lucido, col quale pensavo di fare un cardigan aperto con un tipo di costruzione che è da un po' che voglio provare. Quello blu, della Ornaghi filati, è sempre 100% cotone ma molto diverso, non lucido, molto morbido, e che ha un'aria più grezza, se si può usare questo termine, non so se è il migliore per quello che intendo dire. Con questo pensavo di fare una canottierina ma devo un po' pensarci su perchè non ho ancora idee precise a riguardo...
