F.O.: The navy blue tweed cowl and hat set.

I'm really happy with this last FO! I wasn't really sure what to do with this wool because I wasn't sure if it was enough to make what I had originally thought of making...I had to change my plans a bit but I'm really happy!
I love that the hat unintentionally came out a little twenties...
As always details on my etsy page!

F.O.: The gray slouchy patterned hat

When I knit I often experiment as I go...I maybe have the shape of an idea in my head but don't really know if or how it will work out so I basically go through the trial and error process until I get a result that I like. Often this involves a lot of doing and undoing and so a lot of work gets frogged and a lot of time gets waisted. While the process can be a little unnerving when I do get something I like out of it it feels great!
This was one of those cases where it went quite smoothly, I didn't have to frog out too much knitting this time and I relatively quickly got a result I was more than happy with...I wanted to use the increases and decreases in a decorative way and I am really happy with the pattern that turned out!
I used an amazing yarn I have used before, in another color, here. I also used this yarn in this color for a scarf for my boyfriend and since he wears it all the time I can tell you the quality is amazing. It is a gorgeous merino wool that is lovely to work with, it feels "bouncy" if that makes sense...

As always...details on my etsy page!

F.O.: The cerulean blue bolero

I finally have an F.O. to show you! I already posted a sneak peek of this item a few posts ago...the yarn I used is simply amazing, a gorgeous 100% peruvian wool yarn in a lovely cerulean blue shade. What I love about the color is that it is slightly muted... not too intense and very chic. It almost reminds me of the color of medium wash jeans, and I think it shares their versatility, I can see this worn with black, brown, beige, taupe, light pink...just to name a few...

This is my first experiment with boleros with no front panels, it's just made up of a back panel and sleeves and then the thick border makes the front of the piece and bends around the neck to form the lapels. I love this shape, I'm thinking of replicating it and experimenting with the length of the sleeves and the size of the border. I think this kind of bolero is very versatile and works especially well over dresses because the shape  doesn't cover up the dress too much but it keeps you warm.
As always, details on my etsy page!
